Justin's and Lizzie's Journal: 12/27/25
12/27/25 Justin's Journal
Bad Hemicrania Continua. Lizzie came to breakfast but couldn't really eat. Threw up back at the cabin from park. She took her meds and stayed in bed trying to pass normal headache. Kids and I played around the YMCA. In the afternoon, I took the kids to top of Trail Ridge Road. It started snowing hard and they got to play in real snow for the first time. Good snow ball fight with me. Bryson fell and got a bad scratch on his forehead. Back at the cabin Lizzie's head still very bad. She stayed in bed while Kids and I had dinner. Prayed that the front and snow would relieve her head.
12/27/25 Lizzie's Reflection Now
Looking back on this day, I was so mad that I was feeling so poorly. I couldn't move without throwing up, but on my bad headache days, that happens. I typically get them post travel days, especially when there's huge weather fronts. I kept praying the pain would ease so I could have fun with my family in the snow. It felt so unfair to finally have a dream of mine...my official family playing in the mountains, and I'm stuck in bed. I was starting to feel like this wasn't my normal head pain disorder flair.
Justin and the kids got back from playing in the snow, and I tried so hard to show my excitement for them. I know Jailyn was upset I wasn't happier. I still feel so deeply sad missing these moments of joy for my kids. First real snow play, and my body let me down.
